*Tournament Details:
Peoria Tournament – Points awarded per individual
- The tournament committee secretly selects six holes. These are usually two par 3s, two par 4s and two par 5s, and often one of each type per nine (one par 3 on the front, the other on the back nine). Competitors do not know which holes have been selected.
- Groups tee off and complete their rounds, playing stroke play and scoring in the normal fashion with one exception: double par is the maximum (i.e., 8 is the maximum score on a par 4). Following completion of play, the six Peoria holes are announced.
- Each player totals his six secret holes. That total is multiplied by 3; par is subtracted from that total; then the resulting number is multiplied by 80 percent. This is the player’s allowance. The allowance is subtracted from the player’s gross score and the result is the net Peoria System score.
- Example: On the six secret holes, Player A uses 30 total strokes. 30 strokes x 3 = 90 and 90 minus 72 (par for 18 holes) is 18. Eighty percent of 18 is 14 (round off) which means 14 is the allowance. Player A’s gross score is 90 so 90 minus 14 results in a Peoria System net score of 76.
Whose Score Do We Use? – Points awarded per team
- Record gross scores in Golf Genius.
- Each player will play her own ball. However, only one player’s net score will be used for each hole. The team score will be the sum of 18 holes.
- Before play begins, each team will be given a list of whose score will be used for each hole.
Eclectic Tournament – Points awarded per individual
- This will be a two-week tournament. Players record net scores on scorecards.
- 90% of the player’s handicap will be applied to each round.
- After the second round, an 18-hole score will be computed using the lower net score for each hole.
Beat Your Handicap Tournament – Points awarded per individual
- Each player will be assigned a point total based on 90% of her handicap.
- The player will circle the hole when that total is received.
- Players whose total score is less than or equal to the number given them will be deemed to have beaten their handicap.
Devil Ball Tournament – Points awarded per team
- Each player will be assigned the devil ball for a particular hole. Golfers rotate as the devil ball player.
- On each hole, the devil ball player’s score will be used. Then, that score will be added to the lowest score among the other three people on the team to come up with the team score.
President’s Cup – No tournament points involved
- The cup goes to the woman who has the lowest 2-game net score out of 3 possible play days.
1-2-3 Best Ball Tournament – Points awarded per team
- The teams will be formed with A-B-C-D players.
- Each player will receive 90% of her handicap.
- The score for each hole will be based on a 3-hole rotation. On hole 1, the best net score will be used; on hole 2, the sum of the 2 best net scores will be used; and on hole 3, the sum of the 3 best net scores will be used. The process starts again beginning on hole 4.
Charity Event – Florida Scramble – Points awarded per team
- Record the one team score in Golf Genius.
- The team handicap will be calculated as the sum of all four players’ handicaps divided by 8 (if a threesome is playing, the divisor will be 6).
- On all holes, each player will hit her drive. Select the best ball to play for the second shot. The woman whose ball is chosen will not play the second shot. After the remaining three players have hit their second shot, the best ball will again be chosen. To play the third shot, the woman whose drive was chosen will join the team to hit, and the person whose second shot was chosen will step aside and not hit the third shot. Continue until the ball is holed.
- Repeat this process for each hole.
Four Ball Tournament – Points awarded per 2-woman team
- Players will be paired by handicap. In the 4-woman group, team A will be the A player and D player; team B will be the B player and C player.
- The A player in each team will get no strokes. The rest of the team will receive 100% of their handicap less the handicap of the A player.
- The A team will compete against the B team in a match play format.
- The winning team will receive 2 points for each player. In the event of a tie, each team will receive 1 point.
Joan Lovelace Tournament - Modified Stableford– Points awarded per team
- Teams will be set up as A-B-C-D players.
- Each person in the foursome will have their own card. Record your gross score on the first line, including putts. Then, record your Stableford score underneath according to the methodology below.
- -3 for a Double Bogey or worse
- -1 for a Bogey
- 0 for a Par
- +2 for a Birdie
- +5 for an Eagle
- +10 for a Double Eagle
- Total your putts and total your Stableford points. Then the team scores will be computed by adding each team member’s Stableford points.
